The need for clean urban air combined with the growing concerns regarding climate change as recognized by the Kyoto agreement is forcing society to move toward energy resources that minimize emissions of atmospheric pollutants and green house gases (GHGs).
One sustainable solution for a cleaner environment is to produce electricity from renewable energy sources such as solar, hydropower, wind, biomass and geothermal energy which can be used to produce hydrogen as a renewable energy source for fuel cell engines for transportation, stationary and portable power applications.
